What you don't know about me (or maybe do) is that I consider all of my patients as an extension of my family. And, I feel truly honored to have a role in your life. So thank you!
After a joyous Passover season , a busy practice, and my recent Osteoporosis webinar I have been in quite a stretch .
I hope you and yours are doing well and enjoying the the the transition into Spring.
It's hard to believe that in March of last year I wrote this first Covid-19 post .
It seems like timeless principles are still in-tact. We are still saying the same things we have always said about helping the immune system thrive.
If anything, we are all much more educated and aware of our body and how we interface with it. And, we are also further learning how to recognize embrace our impact on eachother.
Many people are going through their decisions about whether to vaccinate or not-vaccinate and I have appreciated you all reaching out to me and involving me in your decision.
It is very important to get as much information as possible when making any decision and I know how difficult this decision is for many.
As we go into the next chapter of the Covid-19 pandemic ; it's important to continue to procure our heath so ....
Let's get right into this edition.
Allergy Season
Many people have been reaching out lately and asking what do do about allergy season.
Back in February , I wrote this resource guide. It will be important to follow this guide now through September. What convolutes things is that mold season is also interspersed with grass and tree season. Mold allergy is a different beast and may be combined with mycotoxin illness. Mold season hits whenever you have a combination of rain/damp and increased temperatures/heat. So in the Pacific NW; we get a little bit of that in May/June and also again in August/September. It's important to be ready and have your Hepa Filters running at your home during that time. Dr. Crista talked about this with me on my podcast.
Please note that Mycotoxin illness is different then Mold Allergy. Mycotoxin illness is a condition of toxin burden due the chronic exposure of the off-gassing of mold. Whereas, Mold Allergy is an allergic reaction to mold . You can have both conditions together or separately.
Recent Podcast on Chronic Infections in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome with Dr. Amy Proal
Dr. Proal rejoined us on the podcast to discuss chronic infections. This is a very important topic.
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) is a debilitating condition with symptoms of persistent fatigue, neuroinflammation, post-exertional fatigue, joint pain, nerve pain, muscle pain, sensory hypersensitivity, disturbed sleep, headaches, and bowel changes.
It often takes years to get a proper diagnosis and most patients are brushed off as having a psychosomatic illness.
In this episode, Dr. Proal dove into how viruses find tissue to hide out in, disrupt mitochondria, alter the Vagus nerve and how this understanding guides us in treating ME/CFS.
Dr. Rinde appears on BeHealthistic podcast
It was great to get a chance to share my knowledge on the BeHEALHISTIC podcast.
I speak about IBS, SIBO, Terrain Medicine, and all the things testing and treating gut dysbiosis.
Things I am sharing
A lot of people are needing to find work these days and I found this great site called Hire My Mom and it offers a place to find ways to work from home or to hire remote help.

I have been really happy with the shoes made by Kuru. A patient turned me onto them recently. I have been needing a pair of shoes to support my build . It was getting harder and harder to avoid heel pain (ie. plantar fasciitis) , so ordered a pair of the Kuru Chicanes. I absolutely love them and my feet feel so well supported..

Been following Professor Shane Crotty, PhD more and more related to his vaccine/Covid-19 information. Check out his thread about understanding vaccination . I think he does a good job of discussing the concerns related to Variants.

A place I want to visit this Summer is Ecola Park which I guess is near or part of Cannon Beach, Oregon. I long for a vacation as I have been staying off planes and staying in-state since Covid began. Drop me a line of your favorite road trips in the Pacific NW as I would love to hear your favorites.
Well, that's all for now!
Hope you enjoyed this weeks Soundbites.
All the best,
Dr. Rinde
