Adam: sci hub was a fantastic resource to access research documents but has faced challenges and has become less effective, what tools do you use to access DOI docs? Also, B12 and folate may present issues in sibo/ gut caes and in mythl cases; do you have a "general" approach with respect to B12 and folate in conflct cases.

I use My University of Washington library account to access DOIs. Also, when necessary I use my research gate account. I'm not quite sure what you mean about B12 and folate issues. I don't know any causal effects or driver effects of taking B12 and folate in SIBO. Meaning I don't think the supplement would cause SIBO or worse in it. Would love to see any information you have on that. I do know however, that people with SIBO may have associated imbalances in these two markers. But it's an association, not a causation

My notes do not come with reference or links, so cannot support them directly. My recollection around the subject of folate and b12 was with possible conflicts/ caution with issues related to my case including; sibo/IMO, methlyation (?), homocysteine, h2s (likely) and suflur dysregulation. Here are my notes:

» Hydroxocobalamin vs. 5-Methyltetrahydrofolate

» hydroxocobalamin – reduces toxicity of hydrogen sulfide. For this reason, hydroxocobalamin is recommended for people with MTHFR mutations,

» B12 IM (injection) if bad (this form oxidizes h2s in blood)

» Sublingual hydroxocobalamin (to bind with h2s)

» Take B12 separaate from other vitamins, chewable, better oral with saliva
